Daedalus: (scratching his head at his construction) This doesn't look right.

Icarus: No. You put them on backwards.

Daedalus: Something right here at the join....

Icarus: Yes, if you flip those last two I gave you....

Daedalus: But don't get all worried, now, Icarus. I know how you get. “I'll never be able to
do this. I'll never understand that.” It's that pessimism which is going to be the
death of you one day, Icarus.

Icarus: I don't think so, Dad.

Daedalus: There you go again. Listen to your father.

Icarus: (holding up his hand) Just a second.

(Icarus works on Daedalus' wings.)

Daedalus: Now, Icarus, advice from your father is for your own good. We're about to try
something no man has ever done before: fly on his own power. And you're never
going to get off the ground if you harbor all these negative thoughts.

Icarus: (standing back) There.

Daedalus: So put that down and look at me.

Icarus: Really not necessary, Dad.

Daedalus: (grabbing Icarus by the shoulders) Repeat after me. I can do anything I put my
               mind to.

Icarus: I can do anything I put my mind to.

Daedalus: If I think I can fly, then by Phoebus Apollo, I can fly!

Icarus: If I think I can fly, then by Phoebus Apollo, I can fly!

Daedalus: I know you can, and if I know you can, then, say it with me....

Icarus and Daedalus: I know I can too!

Icarus: I actually do think we have a chance at escape, Dad, though I'm a little dubious
about the viscosity of the wax at high altitudes.

Daedalus: Don't get distracted now. I can fly. Say it.
