Chapter 29.

                                        The Bread of Life

(Aurelio sees the painted banners in a repeating pattern of blue-red-green in the center of
Bay 33. Half-Wit Tozzo gasps at the clarity of the blue-red-green, blue-red-green. The dramatic
action continues.)

Tozzo: (gasps, but then:) I don’t understand. I thought it was going to be a map or
something. It’s just a picture of an old lady eating some bread.

Aurelio: Yes, Half-Wit Tozzo. That’s just what Santi wants everyone to think. But it’s oh
so much more. Sit down, and let me translate.
Tozzo:
Aurelio: Actually, if this is going to take a while, I’ll get myself an ale.
Tozzo:
Aurelio: It won’t help you understand my explanation.

No, but it will help me tolerate it. Go ahead.

I think the old woman represents Lady Bianca.
