The story ends with her turning her brothers and sisters from gold pillars back to life.
Wait, where are the brothers and sisters? I knew I’ve seen there. They’re no...they’re not here?
They can’t have disappeared. Maybe Santi painted over the brothers and sisters, trying to tell
me yes he’s finished and he escaped? But where’s the Christ-throne? Where’s the “fish chair”?
None of this makes any sense. Unless...the brothers and sisters are in another bay, and I just
remembered it wrong?

Stand back and observe.
The gold demon was in Bay 27. But the brothers and sisters were in Bay 25, about eighty
feet to the north. The brothers and sisters were as plain as day. Huge, in fact. You could hardly
miss them, unless, of course, you were looking for goats, and not caryatids. Towards the east
wall were four of the caryatids: the first four sisters, with their very much alive sister between
them.
