Translator’s Note. The eighth story appeared here: Burning the Goat.
Though I would have thought the story about the goats with the two jewel eyes
would have made more sense here. Perhaps I’m missing some of the symbolism
of the goat’s immolation. Easy enough to do. A lot of animals catching on fire in
those stories, aren’t there?
