Story the Seventh:
My Daughter’s Cornetti
The famous sculptor Vitale was seconds too late; he was hoping to slip
into his artist's studio before breakfast. Not that he was trying to avoid time
with his lovely wife, the famous actress Gaetana; he cherished every minute,
every hour he was privileged to spend with her. No, what he was trying to
avoid was --
“Oh dear. Helen's made us breakfast again,” said Gaetana. “Can you
smell that?”
Vitale could indeed smell it. “My God! What did she do, find some rotten
corpse?”
“Now, now, be kind. She means well.”
