Story the Fourth:
Kinderslüka

Kinderslüka the Monster had returned. The good people of the Swiss
mountain village of Vierspitzen had grown complacent, for it had been almost
one hundred years since there had been any sign of Kinderslüka: eighty-one
years to be exact. Memories of the monster had turned into old wives' tales
which had then turned into the stuff of ghoulish tales you told your children if
you wanted them to behave.

“Obey your father, or Kinderslüka the Monster will get you. He eats
children, you know. Oh yes he does. You may say all the prayers you wish,
but Kinderslüka will still find you and he will eat you, beginning with your
