She swooped him out of Fuocorogo's talons.
“I saw you fall!” said Lydia. “Then I lost you in the clouds.”
Fuocorogo said, “He fell through a fissure in the earth and was about the
land in the River Styx.”
“And you -- brought him back to me, styxdragon?”
         “I did.”
Benito piped up. “He was going to set me on fire!”
Fuocorogo said humbly, “I'm sorry I threatened him, my lady. I didn't
know how else to get him to squall.”
“You saved his life,” said Lydia.
         “Yes, I did.”
         “Why?”
“He didn't save my life,” yowled Benito, who was beginning to get a little
uncomfortable with his mother's fawning over this dragon. “He was going to
burn me, Mom. He's a bad dragon! Punish him.”
         “Shush, child.”
“I'll shush once you punish him. I don't like him.”
“I'm so sorry,” said Lydia. “We're still working on his manners.”
“I understand,” said Fuocorogo. “I was a little demon when I was his
age.”
         “Mom-m-m! Punish him! Waaa....”
