Translator's note: Seashells. The seashell was the symbol for Bianca
Medici. It referred to her family's origins in Genoa, making a living off of the
water and shipbuilding. Thus, pointing at a seashell became the same to the
painters as if saying her whole name. The rest of the symbols the Duke mentions
seem fairly straightforward and obvious, yes?
